Risks For The Business
Risks and possible solutions or preventative measures are listed below :
- End users don't like the car.
Solution : Do focus group work before building the car. Determine which items are of primary importance such as number of seats, amount of cargo room and the like. Just in showing the design to 10 coworkers I have gotten a lot of positive feedback.
- CSOs don't like the car.
Solution : Do survey work with and about CSOs during the design phase. Incorporate CSO suggestions in the design.
- Parking providers do not like the car.
If institutions do not want to provide free parking, then the SRCs high density parking capability will enable a CSO to keep costs low while still paying for parking areas. For example if University of Texas , in Austin, were to provide free SRC parking on campus that would be great. If they did not, a CSO would still be able to make the SRC available with parking on small lots right across the street from the campus.
- Major auto makers do not want to mass produce the car.
Solution : find a small volume custom builder that can make 10,000 cars a year.
- Patent infringement by major auto makers.
Solution : Use the body of patents filed by MLP, and its financial resources , to take the car company to court.
- Patent infringement by auto makers in countries like China.
Solution : Find a partner company in China. That company will have more influence in their courts.
